AeroNet An AFTN/CIDIN Message Switching Center An AFTN/CIDIN Message Switching Center has the primary function to relay/transmit AFTN Messages from/to a number of other center connected to it; there are two kinds of link for message exchange: AFTN Telegraphic Network that is point-to-point telegraphic lines where messages are exchanged among adjacent centers according to the AFTN protocol. CIDIN Data Communication Network that connects communication centers by means of telephonic channels used for digital data transmission at medium speed; the data exchange in this network is regulated by a a communication protocol structured into layers which partially complies the ISO/OSI Reference Model.
